Gabe Hurley, Program Director/Coach – Altitude All Sports (formerly Stapleton All Sports, est. 2009) is the inspiration of a lifelong passion for sports and working with kids. Growing up in Iowa, Gabe Hurley played a variety of sports, excelling in wrestling and football. Gabe went on to graduate and play football at Division III Wartburg College, where he started as an outside linebacker and was the Team Captain.
Throughout college, Gabe worked for the Waverly Recreation Department coaching youth tee ball, baseball, basketball, wrestling and early skill development. Since graduating, Gabe has remained committed to staying healthy and fit, completing the Colfax Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, Harvest Moon Half Ironman, and running daily around the Central Park community.
Gabe is a Central Park resident where he has served on the SUN Board, has been a CSC member, a block captain, and recently spearheaded and coaches (outside of Altitude All Sports) Northfield Youth Elite Football, a youth tackle football program aimed at being a feeder program for Northfield High School.
Gabe lives in Eastbridge with his wife Julie, their daughter Sydney, son Stone, and yellow lab Rockie. Both kids are involved in multiple competitive sports with their schools and clubs and work as Junior Coaches for Altitude All Sports summer camps. Being an Altitude All Sports Junior Coach is often a first job for many kids in the community.
Since starting the business over fifteen years ago, over 6,000 kids have participated in Altitude All Sports, many going on to compete at the collegiate level. Gabe’s pride and joy is when he gets to reconnect with former kids in his program and know that he helped spur a lifelong love of sports.
